Chicken Run
I don’t know, but...
I made pancakes for breakfast this weekend. With N’s work schedule, he was sleeping in later. The kids had already eaten, and I finished cooking all the pancakes. When I got to the end, I took the last of the batter in my pitcher and made one final big pancake for N. Maybe it was partly out of laziness, but I still thought he’d enjoy a large pancake! And since I was surprising N with a big pancake, I figured the surprise would be even sweeter if it wasn’t just a big pancake but a big heart pancake! (Now, if I’d really thought, I’d have made an “I” and “U” also!) I don’t know that it looked too much like a heart, but I do think it looked an awful lot like a chicken! I found this very exciting… in fact, I still do! (I even took pictures... thus, something for me to blog about today.) When N came down, I presented him with his pancake and told him about it. He said, “I guess that looks a little like a chicken.” A little?! I guess?! (I don’t think he was especially impressed with my culinary chicken creation!) But, really, look at it! There is no doubt in my mind that it looks like a chicken. That is most definitely a chicken.
What do you think?

I'll get excited for you, cuz it is most definitely a chicken! In fact, I was wondering WHY you wanted to make a pancake chicken, and then I read your post. Ummm... not such a good heart.
It's a chicken. Most definitely. But what does it portend...(cue eerie music)
The irony being that if you tried to make a chicken it probably wouldn't have worked out...
When the first line said "why did the chicken cross the road" i looked at the pancake and thought "chicken" but I can also see how your orignial intentions were for it to be a heart. I would have been equally as excited about the chicken shaped pancake as you were!!
i see a chicken..maybe hubby just saw food? just found you today, kids are adorable!
Hey it does look like a chicken. Now, if you had TRIED to make that on purpose, it wouldn't have happened. Cool.
ali-- i think you're right! i'm sure it was definitely just "food" he was thinking about!! i was turned the other direction, but i wouldn't be surprised if, while he was saying "i guess it looks a little like a chicken," he had already started eating on it!!
fqifiOh man, that is definitely something I would get excited about!! And something my husband would look at me funny for! Too cool that you got a picture...that will never happen again!
Yep...definately talking Little Red Hen here...:)
